…because they took out her ventilator!!
Ashleigh had the ventilator in for four weeks (read why here) so when they took the tubes out yesterday her vocal chords swelled. They gave her a round of steroids to relieve the swelling and a CPAP machine to use until the swelling subsided (which they said would be a day or so). But Ashleigh is so relieved to finally have that out!
Her heart rate is normal, her chemistry looks good, and her liver is still working well. That ventilator was the last hold out so now with it out there is hope for a full recovery!
