How we spent our St. Patrick’s day…

The weather was perfect today for a hearty Irish stew, or colcannon with roast. But noooo, our evening took a different turn.
The sump pump broke.
And splashed water everywhere. The pump itself is o.k., but the connection between the submerged pipes came undone (and it was so corroded and gross that it couldn’t even be put back together). So I bailed water until Ryan got home and called the plumber (we’ve been wanting to replace it for a long time – what a better opportunity?). No big deal, right? We bailed from 5-6. No plumber. 6-8…still no plumber. Around 9:30pm we decided the plumber wasn’t coming so Ryan ran to Home Depot and got enough supplies for a temporary fix. Note to new home buyers: do not buy the lowest house in the neighborhood.
